Friday at the TLFO2017: The Victorious Tie Between Reggae and Rock in Oświęcim

One hour before the opening of the Festival’s gates in Oświęcim, a gale run through the MOSiR’s Stadium and heavy rain broke out. However, “after the rain, the sun always comes” – there was not a single drop since 4pm. Well, unless we are talking about tears of emotions.

It could not be otherwise, since the Tauron Life Festival Oświęcim 2017 had so much to offer, including stunning reggae finale – probably the most cheerful kind of music. In this case, Shaggy was the man of the hour, whose sensational performance will be remembered for a long time

His concert, stuffed with such hits as “Boombastic”, “Angel” and “Feel the Rush”, put fans in dance ecstasy. Nearly 50-year-old charmed everybody with his charisma. Jamaican’s concert was finalized with a selfie with an audience, who applauded him long after the last sounds of his music came out of speakers.

Before Shaggys’s great finish we experienced dance rhythms in Jamaican colors provided by Mesajah, and Maleo Reggae Rockers who celebrated their 20th anniversary of their existance. The former made the audience dance, and the latter added a guitar sound to their unique version of reggae, making this duo a perfect bridge between the more rock-oriented first part of the day.

Lao Che, the experimenting rock musicians proved to be in great musical shape, the energetic performance by BeMy thrilled spectators, Estonian I Wear* Experiment showed how to play modern electronic music, and Kandinsky from Dachau proved that guitar rock is still alive and well.

Friday’s TLFO concerts were a great prelude to what is waiting for us on Saturday. Fans are already sharpening their teeth for such artists as LP, Kasia Kowalska, Julia Pietrucha, and legendary German group Scorpions.
