Pro-freedom movies screening is an important element of building the atmosphere and the message of the entire festival. This year's repertoire is extremely interesting!
The first film, which will be screened on June 11 at 18:00, is "12 Years and Slave". This is the story of Solomon Northup, who had been born in the north as a free black man, but later was kidnapped and sold in the south of the United States, where slavery still prevailed.
"Fuocoammare" is a French-Italian production that shows the life on Lampedusa, where 150,000 refugees arrived during only one year. The director does not judge anyone, but compares the problems of refugees with autochthonous problems. The screening will take place on June 12 at 18:00.
The last one will be "Jimmy’s Hall". The film is about freedom to express opinions, to own choices, own lifestyle. It takes place in the first half of the 20th century, in the nearby Ireland. The hall, in which young people could dance, but also talk about politics, wasn’t much liked by the local clergy. Who will be the top in this dispute, we will see on June 13 at 18:00.
"Przystanek Wolność" will end with Limboski's performance, which will take place after the last Wednesday screening. The artist began his career with blues sounds which he loves, but with time he discovered much more and reveal his creativity. “Poliamoria”, the last album released in April, is full of thoughtful lyrics and mature sounds inspired by streets of Berlin.
Admission to film screenings and concert is free, all you have to do is pick up tickets at the Planet Cinema box office.
